I love this. Um, what is it?

Back in the day, fire towers like this one were built on top of ridges and it was someone’s job to sit up there and watch for fires that might start in the valleys and forests below. The towers often got struck by lightning and so there was apparently a chair in the middle that was safe to sit in during a storm. There are tales of seeing the metal window frames glow blue when the tower was struck.

That photo is absolutely beautiful. You guys should sell prints. Seriously. Oh, and include the story with it, about the fire towers and the lightning chair and the window frames glowing blue. That just makes the photo that much more fascinating.

I like the texture and the monochrome in this one.
